Fury * Individual * Training

The program is designed to provide an opportunity for motivated players of all ages and abilities to work one on one or in small groups with a dedicated coach on a scheduled and pre-purchased basis. The goal of this program is to provide individual soccer training focused on improving skills and techniques.

How Does It Work?

The FIT program is structured around 1-4 participants pre-purchasing four 1 hour blocks of training time with one of our staff coaches. It is important to note that while the program costs are built around individual participants, we strongly encourage small groups of 3-4 to sign up as we believe player development and performance increases in this type of setting. This structure also provides a cost benefit to groups. Full payment is due to Arizona Fury Soccer Club prior to the first session.

Jerry Smith visits Arizona Fury
By: Katie Cole    Publish Date: 2/17/2006 12:59:00 PMJerry Smith with the girls of Arizona Fury.

February 16, 2006

It was an exciting evening for the Arizona Fury Soccer Club as Jerry Smith, Head Womens Soccer Coach at Santa Clara University, spent the day with coaches, players, and parents. Jerry Smith, the fourth winningest coach in NCAA history, has made a name for himself in Division I womens soccer with numerous Final Four appearances and a National Championship in 2001. Jerry has coached players such as Brandi Chastain, Aly Wagner and Nikki Serlenga, who all have been members of the US Womens National team.

The day began with a coaches clinic, where Jerry Smith discussed defensive strategies with the Arizona Fury staff and local coaches.

The evening continued with a technical session with the players. The kids were introduced to advanced techniques in passing and receiving and were able to apply them in game-like situations.

"It was great to have a coach of Jerry's expertise and reputation spend time with our players. Hopefully this will inspire some of our players to strive to compete at the highest levels of soccer," stated Katie Cole, Director of Program Development.
